ShopSlayer vs Running Affiliates in Seller Center Alone
By ShopSlayer TeamPublished Last updated
Key takeaways
- You need Seller Center either way. ShopSlayer works on top of it, not in place of it.
- Seller Center is free and holds commission, samples, sales data and the full pool of TikTok affiliates.
- ShopSlayer adds three things: affiliates who come to your campaign, a brief they read before joining, and a per-affiliate count of videos posted.
- Connect Seller Center and you track affiliates, videos, samples and sales in one place.
- If you work with a handful of affiliates you already know, Seller Center alone is enough.
Let's start with the answer most comparison pages avoid: you may not need us.
TikTok Shop Seller Center has a full affiliate program built in, and it costs nothing. Plenty of sellers run affiliates well with it alone. ShopSlayer exists for the point where that stops being enough, and this page is meant to help you work out whether you have reached it.
What each one does#
Compared as of October 2026.
| Seller Center alone | With ShopSlayer added | |
|---|---|---|
| Cost | Free | 14-day free trial, then from $199 a month |
| Finding affiliates | You search with Find Creators, then invite or message | You publish one campaign and affiliates opt in |
| Size of the pool | Every affiliate on TikTok Shop Philippines | 5,000+ affiliates on ShopSlayer |
| The brief | A short invitation message, or chat | A full brief on the campaign page, read before joining |
| Free samples | Requested, approved and shipped here | Still shipped through Seller Center. You can approve requests from inside ShopSlayer once connected. |
| Knowing who posted | Per product: affiliates who added it and who posted | Per affiliate: videos submitted against videos required |
| Reviewing videos | You watch them on TikTok | Approve, reject or send feedback on each one |
| Following up | One reminder per affiliate on a sample, plus chat | Automatic email reminders to affiliates in your campaign |
| Sales and commission | Full data, including sales by affiliate | Sales shown on the same dashboard as your affiliates and videos, once Seller Center is connected. Commission is set and paid in Seller Center. |
| Ad codes | Affiliates authorise videos in the app | Request ad codes from affiliates in one list (Pro plan and above) |
Where Seller Center is better#
It is free. It has every affiliate on the platform, where we have more than 5,000. And it is where commission is set and samples are shipped.
If you already have ten or twenty affiliates you trust, you know them by name and you message them directly, adding another tool gives you very little.
When volume picks up#
The workload grows with volume.
Seller Center tells you an affiliate added your product. It can tell you they posted. Once you have sixty affiliates, giving them all the same clear brief, keeping track that affiliate number 34 owes you two videos, and sending feedback on a video without opening TikTok and a chat window becomes work of its own.
We saw the cost of that in one campaign where a brand approved 30 affiliates and asked for three videos each. Six weeks later, 29 of the 90 videos had come in. Nobody had a single screen showing which 61 were missing, or from whom.
That gap, between "approved" and "posted", is what ShopSlayer is built around.
Built on Seller Center, on purpose#
ShopSlayer doesn't try to copy what Seller Center already does well. It adds the campaign side: bringing affiliates in, briefing them and tracking what they post.
- Everything in one place. Connect your Seller Center and your sales sit on the same dashboard as your affiliates, their videos and your sample requests. Commission and payouts stay with TikTok.
- A pool that came to work. Seller Center lists every affiliate on the platform. ShopSlayer's 5,000+ signed up for one reason: to find brand campaigns and post for them.
- Samples still ship the way you know. You approve requests from inside ShopSlayer once your Seller Center is connected, and the parcel goes out through Seller Center like any order.
Who should pick which#
Stay with Seller Center alone if you work with a small group of affiliates you already know, you are testing whether affiliate works for your product at all, or your budget for tools is zero.
Add ShopSlayer if you want dozens of affiliates per campaign and don't want to recruit them one message at a time, you need to hand a clear brief to people you have never met, or you have lost track of who posted what more than once.
The cheapest way to find out is one campaign. The trial covers a single campaign with up to 100 opt-in affiliates.
